Business Administration

 Our Level 2 Business Administration Apprenticeship is provides an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to begin their career in administration and develop the essential skills needed to succeed in a professional working environment.


Designed for those starting out in business administration roles, this apprenticeship will equip learners with the knowledge, skills and confidence to provide effective administrative support, manage everyday office tasks and contribute positively to the smooth running of an organisation.


Throughout the programme, apprentices will gain practical experience alongside their training, developing skills in areas such as communication, organisation, customer service, digital working, data handling and business processes. Learners will understand how administrative functions support teams and help organisations operate efficiently.


This apprenticeship is ideal for new or existing employees working in administrative roles across a range of sectors, including schools, nurseries, businesses and public sector organisations. It provides a strong foundation for career progression into more advanced administration roles or further apprenticeship opportunities. 


Eligibilty: Learners must be uner the age of 25 years old for this course.

Knowledge

During this apprenticeship, learners will develop knowledge of:


  • The organisation and its purpose – understanding how their role supports the wider organisation, its aims, values and objectives. 
  • Administrative services and processes – understanding common administrative procedures and how they contribute to business efficiency. 
  • Communication methods – understanding how to communicate professionally with colleagues, customers and stakeholders using appropriate channels. 
  • Digital technologies and systems – understanding how to use workplace IT systems and digital tools to complete administrative tasks effectively. 
  • Data management and information handling – understanding how to create, store, retrieve and maintain accurate records while following confidentiality and data protection requirements. 
  • Business legislation, policies and procedures – understanding relevant workplace policies and the importance of compliance. 
  • Customer service principles – understanding how to provide professional support and respond to customer needs. 
  • Team working and workplace relationships – understanding the importance of collaboration and effective working relationships.  


Skills

Apprentices will develop the ability to:


  • Provide effective administrative support to teams and individuals. 
  • Communicate clearly and professionally through written, verbal and digital methods. 
  • Use digital systems to create documents, manage information and complete administrative tasks. 
  • Organise workloads, prioritise tasks and manage deadlines effectively. 
  • Maintain accurate records and handle sensitive information appropriately. 
  • Support meetings, including preparing documents, taking notes and following up actions. 
  • Deliver excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Identify problems, use initiative and suggest improvements to administrative processes. 
  • Work independently while also contributing positively to a team environment. 
  • Adapt to changing priorities and workplace requirements.
