Teaching Assistants play a crucial role in supporting children and young people to achieve their full potential, working alongside teachers to deliver high-quality learning experiences across primary, secondary, and specialist education settings. As the role of the Teaching Assistant continues to evolve, many professionals are taking on increased responsibilities, supporting learning, leading activities, and providing greater levels of classroom support.
Our Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship with HLTA Certificate has been designed to develop the knowledge, skills, and confidence required to become an effective Teaching Assistant while providing a clear pathway towards Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) responsibilities.
Throughout the apprenticeship, learners will develop their understanding of supporting teaching and learning, promoting positive behaviour, safeguarding, assessment, and working collaboratively with teachers and wider education teams. In addition, the programme includes the HLTA pathway, enabling apprentices to develop the skills required to take on additional responsibilities, such as leading learning activities, supporting curriculum delivery, and working with individuals or groups of learners with greater independence.
This enhanced pathway supports Teaching Assistants who are looking to progress their careers and make a greater impact within their educational setting. Apprentices will gain the confidence to contribute to planning and delivering learning opportunities, support pupil development, and play an active role in creating inclusive and engaging learning environments.
By completing this apprenticeship, individuals will be equipped with the skills, knowledge, and experience to progress within the education sector, opening opportunities for further career development and progression into Higher Level Teaching Assistant roles and beyond.
Apprentices studying Functional Skills must achieve these prior to taking the End Point Assessment.
